Admission Process

Welcome Prospective Students and Parents! Thank you for your interest in our school. In partnership with the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Community, we guide our students to grow in love, understanding, and practice of their Catholic faith, to realize their individual academic potential, and to be responsible citizens who are Christ-like in their service to others. Important Admission Dates

  • Application deadline for siblings: February 6, 2017
  • Application deadline for new families: February 13, 2017
  • 1st – 8th grade new student assessments, by appointment.
  • Kindergarten readiness assessment and parent interviews:
  • February 25, 2017   10 a.m.-12 p.m. (Session 1)
  • February 25, 2017   1 p.m.-3 p.m. (Session 2)
  • Acceptance letters mailed to parents: February 28, 2017
  • Parent acceptance and registration fees due: March 6, 2017
  • Financial Aid Application Deadline: March 3, 2017
  • Financial Aid decisions mailed/emailed to parents: June 1, 2017

Applications
Applications are now available online, in the school office and will be available at Open House on January 29, 2017. Completed applications will be reviewed by Admissions/Administrators. We will contact families for appointment times to meet with the Principal. All students applying will be assessed for their readiness to the incoming grade.

Transitional Kindergarten & Kindergarten
Play date/Observation appointments will be scheduled through the school office. This brief period of time allows an opportunity to observe a student’s social and academic “readiness.” While interacting with peers and the teachers.

Transitional Kindergarten applicants must be 4 years old by September 1.
Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by September 1.
First Grade applicants must be 6 years old by September 1.

Grades 1- 8 Screening
Parents of presently enrolled students must inform the school in January that they plan to return the following fall. When we have an estimate of the number of openings available, we will invite applicants for class visits in early February. During their day at Assumption, they will participate in the class activities and have an opportunity to see the school in session. They will be assessed in math and literacy to determine their foundational skills in relation to the other children in the class and grade level Common Core Standards.

Selection And Notification
Parents will be notified by letter of the admission decision in late February. When your child is accepted, you will have 5 working days to enroll by paying a nonrefundable registration fee of $475. Plus $45 fee for 1st child to set up FACTS account for the 2017-18 school year. Please see separate tuition fees for Transitional Kindergarten.

Once the classes are filled the remaining applications are kept on file. If an opening occurs, we will contact you to see if you are still interested in enrolling your child. All remaining applications will be kept on file until December of the application year. Parents must reapply to be considered for the following school year.
